Founder Story: Waterfall Energy Led Me To Cascada Coaching

Standing under a waterfall in the Minca rainforest, arms held down by my sides, letting the natural force of the overrun drench me continuously under its weight, leaning down, feeling the force of it all, and realizing that “this powerful, beautiful thing never stops.”

Consistently strong, authentic, cooling energy is rare to find these days. Few resources can produce energy that remains strong, naturally. It’s greater than momentary passion. It’s more unique than what can be built by hand. It’s ancient in its hereditary, the waterfall. It’s an unforgettable creation I’ve been seeking to learn from.

I made a commitment, that day in the jungle, about 3 years ago, to accept the power of what is natural, to stop trying to make something better than what “real” can provide, and just connect and pursue what is real. Along that path, came many fears about hidden agendas, unknown motives in others, and grappling with all of the capitalistic virtues and trust issues I picked up in The United States. They could never be forgotten. But the ability to transform back into what is authentic begets recognition of what is real, attraction, and growth.

It’s this pursuit that led me to life coaching — finding friendships and connections with humans who saw both sides of the coin too, but chose to be trustworthy. I began to cherish the art of finding these genuine people, who sometimes stood out in small towns and other times revealed themselves with courage, while fighting to maintain their own their values and worth in environments whose profit motive is rooted in illusion.

And as I met these peaceful-minded and fiercely courageous people of Colombia, they shared with me stories of where their resilience comes from. We traded some stories of our past lives and other worlds. They gave me perspective and lifted me. I gave them hope and lifted them too.

For 6 years, each time I’ve returned to The United States, I’ve repelled. I’ve found myself back on the same flight headed to South America. While friends back home may have assumed the worst, it was actually quite the opposite. Through an unshakeable attachment to the healing energy of the land and passionate nature of the people in Colombia, I’ve found a place of peace that was worth a hundred counseling sessions. The well of untapped potential for healing through the mind and eyes of a foreign soul, knowing the humans that have my back through life’s challenges, and are there for me as I would be for them, is one of the most supportive human experiences I’ve encountered as a solo professional.

And life brings new and unexpected challenges. Being able to call upon those who have experienced hardships on an entirely different level has been humbling and helpful. It feels selfish to hoard the healing thoughts and energy that have been medicinal for me. The growth has made me want to extend what I’ve learned to others who can benefit from it too. And there are hundreds of us professionals who are grinding to support our futures, grow the local and global economy that has been tied to us since birth, and as we clock back in to contribute to society each day, sometimes, we just need a friend who was born in a completely different place to help us see a “win” that wasn’t financial or attached to a competitive determination of our personal value. There’s a ton to be thankful for, even if we’re staring at the many challenges of our day.

The awakening that has come from traveling 30 times to Colombia in the past 6 years, exploring its diverse cities, wildlife, terrain, and people — reminded me that whatever rises or falls, we’ll choose to keep creating, keep reaching, and keep going in the right directions when we have a real supporter on our side. And it makes a major difference in our present and future challenges to have energy that lifts us along the way. I want to find those professionals in The United States who can become dedicated to receiving that waterfall energy each day, and doing something good with it. I want to see what can be done when a group of us share in a continuous energy that is designed for daily support, wellness, useful beauty, strength, and care.

If you’re a professional who can do something with this type of waterfall energy, I hope you’ll submit to join Cascada Coaching. I’ll match you with one of the best supporters who has been there for me during some of life’s heaviest challenges.
