This is a no-cost project, with 100% of sales directly benefiting South American families in dire need.

During the peak of the pandemic, I began to receive What’s App messages from friends in South America.

Formerly employed families were catching frogs for food in Venezuela. A hotel manager I met in Villa De Leyva was fired, robbed in broad daylight, and forced to sell oranges on the street in Bogota, while homeless. A single mother was kicked out of her apartment. All of her things thrown to the hallway. Another connection of a friend, a single mother, paid her rent, but was unable to feed herself after feeding her baby. A college graduate continued her work at a corporate office, while being denied pay for 3 months. For every 14 hour work day, she was eating one meal a day.

I shared these stories with friends. We banded together in a Facebook group to support. By rallying painters in South America, we began to sell paintings from South America through our Facebook group in the USA.

Today, we have collected thousands of dollars in support that has helped single mothers and families in South America to eat, pay rent, and keep their children fed. While I want to say this project has saved a lot of people from extreme situations, it’s been hard to learn what mothers were forced to do to feed their children. So, we’ve continued the project.

The painting pictured have been stretched across a canvas frame made in Westerville, Ohio by Eric Corthell.

Each painting purchased means a lot to me. It’s a personal connection we’ll share.
